Luxury on the seas

Journey on the Ship of Dreams

Spaces bathed in light, a grandiose visual world. This is what the Celebrity Edge, the ocean liner envisioned with the technical solutions of the third millennium, looks like.

It was said about the Titanic that it was "the ship of dreams." and indeed, during its era, with its advanced technical solutions, luxurious interiors for first-class passengers, and exceptional services, it far outshone its competitors. A hundred years after the Titanic, sea travel still retains its timeless charm. Sailing toward the horizon that fades into infinity, it gifts the traveler with the romantic allure of conquering the unknown. All of this is experienced in reassuring safety and unparalleled comfort. Those who have experienced life aboard an ocean liner easily become addicted and always long to return to this thrilling travel experience.

Over the past century, engineering ingenuity has imagined a multitude of ocean liners, and with their grand dimensions, today's ships far exceed the legendary steamship born a hundred years ago in terms of capacity and size. The pursuit of "bigger and better" seems to have reached its upper limits, as the largest ships today can carry a small town’s worth of people (almost 9,000) along with the crew at the same time. Modern engineering now strives to push the boundaries even further with even more astonishing and luxurious labels.

The latest Edge class of ships from Celebrity Cruises is a prime example of this. The creators' undisguised goal is to return to the golden age of ocean liners. To that era, whose ships, rich in vast and magnificent spaces—shiny chandelier-lit dining rooms and grand staircases—we all know well from movies or novels.

However, the Celebrity Edge not only brings this tradition to life but also reinvents it: it combines tradition with the most modern technical solutions, innovative and creative leisure options, and a gastronomic offering that satisfies even the most refined tastes.

In the "city center" named Grand Plaza, we find vast communal spaces that evoke the bustling main squares of seaside towns, alongside unique solutions that offer an experience unlike any other in cruising. One such solution is the Exposed Corridor, where the walls reveal the ship’s stabilizing steel ribs, beautiful in their simplicity. Another is The Pendulum, which, with its slow and majestic swing, endlessly mirrors the movement of the ocean.

The Grand Plaza offers different moods, color schemes, and experiences at various times of the day, welcoming travelers in unique ways.

Here is one of Celebrity’s iconic spots, the must-visit Martini Bar, which is majestically overlooked by an enormous decorative chandelier that recalls the golden age mentioned earlier. The 7-ton artistic masterpiece, which quickly became the symbol of the Celebrity Edge, is made unique and endlessly captivating by the interplay of light from its 765 LED "blades." Also located at the heart of the ship are 27 specialty restaurants, bars, and cafes.

Perhaps the most striking feature of the ship is the world's first floating terrace, which changes its function depending on which deck it is stationed on. At its highest position, it serves as the setting for romantic, starlit dinners; on the 14th deck, it is a sunbathing terrace open to the water, complementing the pool complex; and on the 5th deck, it transforms into a unique, outdoor restaurant. When the floating terrace lowers to the water's surface, it functions as a dock, making boarding and disembarking for small boat landings much more comfortable. This multifunctional space is the magic floating above the water’s surface, which is why it is aptly named the Magic Carpet.

The Celebrity Edge's additional design features and services are sure to surprise those stepping aboard. The essential services and visual elements, as well as sports and relaxation options, have been reimagined and placed aboard in innovative forms. The terrace pool deck, facing the sea, is a spacious asymmetrical space, with a 23-meter pool at its center, complete with water-level sunbeds. Another novelty at the pool deck is the two stunning jacuzzis, shaped like martini glasses, as well as the private relaxation cabins oriented toward the water’s surface.

The Celebrity Edge offers more impressive new suites than ever before. The Iconic Suite features a vast panoramic terrace with its own jacuzzi, while the two-story Edge Villas come with a garden and a plunge pool. Additionally, suite guests have access to a VIP sunbathing terrace, restaurant, and lounge, offering a peaceful retreat away from other passengers for ultimate relaxation.

Perhaps the best description of the new experiences offered by the Celebrity Edge came from one of the first visitors to the ocean liner, who, while looking down at the bustling Grand Plaza from three decks above, said: "Here is the proof that Atlantis didn’t sink... it just renewed itself. And now it’s floating with us across the world’s oceans..."
