5 breathtakingly lucky places on Earth

If Lady Luck hasn't smiled upon you in a while, it might be worth visiting the following places!

Rabbit's foot, four-leaf clover, horseshoe. For centuries, people have used objects to attract good luck. It’s no wonder that there are many places on Earth that our ancestors believed to possess special powers. According to legend, if you make a wish at these places, it will eventually come true.

The Sanctuary of Lovers, Verona

Verona has cleverly capitalized on the fact that one of Shakespeare's most famous plays, Romeo and Juliet, is set in the city. According to legend, the house on Via Capello once belonged to Juliet's family. Although the characters in the story are largely fictional (though some theories suggest they were inspired by real people), the Casa di Giulietta (Juliet's House) has become a popular tourist attraction over the years.

Visitors can admire the iconic balcony, pin messages on the wall for their loved ones, or hang a love lock on the fence. The legendary statue of Juliet once stood here as well, and according to superstition, those who touch it will find true love. Unfortunately, a few years ago, the statue was moved to a museum due to damage caused by constant touching and the weather, and a replica now stands in its place.

A Celtic legend, Blarney

The Blarney Stone is one of Ireland's most visited landmarks. For over two centuries, pilgrims have climbed the stairs of Blarney Castle to kiss the stone located on the top floor. According to legend, those who kiss the stone are granted the gift of eloquence.

However, the task is far from simple: to complete the mission, one must lean over the parapet and face the dizzying heights. Countless legends have been told about the stone. One such story is that of an elderly woman who, after being rescued from the water by the King of Munster, endowed the stone with magical powers: if the king kissed it, his words would win over everyone he spoke to.

The Miraculous Statue, Prague

The Czech Republic is one of Central Europe's most beautiful tourist gems. Its capital, Prague, known as the Golden City, offers countless attractions and entertainment options for both the young and the old.

From the Old Town, you can quickly walk to the Charles Bridge, which is 516 meters long and nearly 10 meters wide. It is one of Europe's oldest bridges, construction of which began in 1357 under the orders of Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV. On the bridge stands a statue and memorial plaque of St. John of Nepomuk. St. John, the royal chaplain of King Wenceslas IV, was executed on the king’s orders because he refused to reveal the Queen’s confession secrets. Legend has it that touching the statue brings good luck and signifies that one day you will return to Prague.

The Fountain of Fortune, Rome

The Trevi Fountain in Rome is one of the most famous fountains in the world. Many will surely remember the iconic scene from the film La Dolce Vita, in which Anita Ekberg steps into the fountain fully dressed.

The structure itself is about 26 meters high and 20 meters wide, making it the largest baroque fountain in the Italian capital. This unique masterpiece was built in the 17th century based on the designs of Niccolò Salvi on the southern facade of the Poli Palace. The central element of the fountain is the statue of Neptune, created by Pietro Bracci. Although many other artists contributed to the sculptures, the composition forms a unified whole. According to legend, if you throw a coin into its waters, luck will smile upon you, and you are sure to return to Rome.

The Laughing Buddha, Hangzhou

An old legend says that if you rub the Laughing Buddha's belly, it will bring you good luck, wealth, and prosperity.

However, most people are unaware that the legend actually originates from the Lingyin Temple, one of China's largest monasteries. Here, you can find countless Buddha statues, but the most important attraction of all is the Laughing Maitreya Buddha carved into the rock. Located in a breathtaking setting, it blesses with good luck those who visit.
